Lincoln comes up with a brand new sport utility vehicle to its lineup in 2003 that resembles a Lincoln Navigator, only a bit smaller in size. The latest 2005 Lincoln Aviator SUV has strong V8 power, three rows of seats and it comes in a more moderate size and lower price as compared to the Navigator. The present line-up of Aviator has been simplified to some extent. The grille has been modified, and there are new exterior and interior colors. All Aviators have standard Ford's AdvanceTrac electronic stability system and Roll Stability Control, seven-spoke, 17-inch aluminum wheels. Other standard equipment is tire-pressure monitor and rear parking assist. Built with body-on-frame construction, the current Aviator has an independent suspension and rack-and-pinion steering.
Lincoln Aviator Interior
The special satin nickel metallic finish on the dashboard and center console of the 2005 Lincoln Aviator makes the cabin more impressive. One can find a new Lincoln clock; too, that is an analog timepiece, instead of a digital one. Either a three-place bench or bucket seats can be installed in the second row. It can accommodate up to seven people when it is equipped with the 40/20/40-split second-row bench seat. When the third-row seat folds flat into the floor, one gets more cargo space. The overall interior styling is accented with the best use of satin nickel finish, American burl walnut wood and premium leather upholstery. Lincoln Aviator Exterior
The exterior styling of the 2005 Aviator shares some basic outlines from other Lincoln sedans and SUVs. It has got a large grille with new chrome surround and slots, highlighted with clear-lens headlights. There are round shaped fog lamps at the front bumper fascia. It has a two-piece lift gate with flip-up rear glass. Built on a 113.7-inch wheelbase, the Aviator is overall 193.3 inches long and stands wide at 71.9 inches. Integrated running boards are standard. It gives a ride that is quiet and pleasant. The Aviator is designed to give a bit of road feel to the driver, rather than an isolating ride. The 17-inch, Michelin tires are also standard. It gets 302 horsepower from its 4.6-liter double overhead cam 90-degree V8 engine.
